The former Liverpool manager admits coming back to coach Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, remarked that rejoining the club remains a possibility. The 58-year-old, post a game-changing nine-season tenure that included a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title since 1990, now holds roles in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and in an advisory capacity for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won England's top flight under Arne Slot, though countless followers who revere Klopp would embrace the possibility of his potential comeback. During an extensive chat, he explained to the podcast host: “I stated I will never coach a different club in England. Which implies in case it's my former club...yes. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“I’m 58, which suggests I could make the decision in a few years, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, no such pressure exists. I'll wait and observe what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

Questioned regarding which situations must arise to draw him back to the dugout, he revealed he isn't eager to such a return. “I'm not entirely sure, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “I don't crave being a coach; No desire to be under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; No need for interviews four times, three times a week or constant media duties weekly.

“No nostalgia for the changing area in that context, but sitting in a restaurant with the team enjoying conversation, is pleasant. With many victories so there was often a very good mood at the club. Remaining with me is Van Dijk's laughter in my ear for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly for his successor, crediting him for the tweaks that won the league in the previous season. Liverpool have lost four consecutive matches in all competitions post heavy investment, but he rubbished the suggestion that it might signal the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker such as Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. An outstanding player. The French striker, excellent performer. It’s a really good thoughtfully assembled roster. No need for concern about Liverpool, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling on the loss of the Portuguese star, a player he signed during his tenure, along with the consequences at the club. The Portugal international died tragically in a vehicle collision alongside his brother in July.

“How do you replace such an individual? It goes beyond his on-field talent, his personality mattered. I can’t imagine the squad absent his presence. I find it difficult to discuss about it. A devastating blow for his teammates as well. Not a single person will ever use it as an excuse yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains. Dealing with that emotionally is not easy. Unbearable.”
