Loyal followers of the pop star are calling for that a man who breached a fence and seized the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be arrested or deported from Singapore.

A viral video shows the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past media personnel and lunging at Grande while the performers made its way down a event pathway flanked by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly guided the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being detained", though official papers indicated that he was set to attend court on the next day. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

Pattern of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram profile features recordings of him interrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the pop singer's Sydney performance in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last December.

"Steps should be implemented taken against him as this is obviously a punishable act," wrote an Instagram user, in a message to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" another Instagram user wrote.

Supporters Voice Worry Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Numerous supporters accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had discussed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a devastating incident at the end of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming numerous individuals.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" said a further comment on Instagram.

Several fans also questioned event staff at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while some called for digital services to block Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande seemed startled when she was grabbed by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.

Grande has not commented on the event, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

The movie, to be premiered on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the well-known theatrical show Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely friendship between two contrasting characters.

The musical itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning film of the previous year in the UK, and received a dozen Academy Award nods, winning two for best costume and artistic direction.
